I’m Denise Maples, founder of Backbone Operations.
My background in social work culminated nearly thirty years in social service leadership, including case management, program management, and organizational leadership. My work has been to step into complicated situations, make sense of what was actually happening, build the systems that hold the work together and help the people involved find a clear path forward.
Social services is where I cut my operational teeth. Now I bring that structure to business owners who need support with their daily operations.
The setting has changed, but the skills haven’t: listen carefully, find the real problem, build something the people involved can actually use and stay steady through the messy parts. That’s still how I work with every business I partner with today.

I live in Norman, Oklahoma, with my dog, Bingo, my partner in crime and newsletter assistant 🐾 My hobbies include: creating fairy gardens, collecting metal art solar lights and traveling.
